teachers and administrators posing with an award given to them

All Edmond Public Schools employees strive to embody four Core Values: belonging, collaboration, hope and integrity. Each month, Dr. Grunewald surprises a couple EPS employees who have been nominated for exceptionally exemplifying a Core Value.

Frontier’s Krystin Kinsaul was nominated for BELONGING because she goes above and beyond to make sure all her students feel loved through her teaching and her actions that inspire students to appreciate and accept each other. She has embraced the many students with special needs who have been in her class, collaborating tirelessly with her broader school team to be sure their needs are met in a seamless way on a moment-by-moment basis.

Special Services Speech Language Pathologist Tara Savedra was nominated for HOPE for her work with teams across the district on this particular Core Value. Tara explains the importance of Hope by presenting findings from the book “Hope Rising” at professional development around EPS.
