Reading is delicious! 📚 📖
Third grade rotated through five genre restaurants, which included Starbooks poetry, historical fiction diner, informational bistro, biography pizzeria, and a traditional literature bakery! Today was a blast in 5th grade as we traveled back in time to the Colonial Era! 🕯️Students rotated through immersive, hands-on stations: sketching silhouettes, playing colonial games, crafting candles, learning traditional dances, and exploring the world of an apothecary. They also enjoyed tea and a historical movie, met a colonial soldier, and captured memories at a themed photo booth! It was the perfect mix of fun, history, and discovery! 🪶📜⚔️ #FalconsRise #ShineYourLight

🎉 We’re thrilled to celebrate our amazing Teacher of the Year, 3rd-grade teacher, Megan George! Mrs. George pours her heart into helping every student learn and grow, and she’s just as passionate about supporting her fellow teachers in their own learning journey. We’re so proud and excited that she is representing Frontier as our 25-26 Teacher of the Year! Congratulations, Mrs. George! 🧡🩵 #FalconsRise #ShineYourLight

🚀 Our first graders had some very special visitors this week at Frontier! They loved meeting a builder, police officers, a nurse, a firefighter, and even a meteorologist. 🏗️👮♀️👩⚕️🚒🌦️ Each guest shared how they help our community, and our students were full of excitement and great questions. 🩵🧡
A huge thank you to Jessica Hill, Steve Liebl, Jed Castles, Michael King, and Derek Mecklenburg for inspiring our students and showing them how community helpers make a difference every day! ✨ #FalconsRise #ShineYourLight

🐻🎉 Our 4th graders had an un-bear-ably fun time wrapping up Fat Bear Week! To make it even more exciting, bears (and their favorite snack, salmon! 🐟) helped reveal the voting results… and the big winner was 32 Chunk! 🏆
This morning, we also welcomed a paw-some guest speaker who shared fascinating facts about bear conservation and taught us the bear-y big differences between the bears roaming Alaska and the ones here in Oklahoma. 🐾
It was a grr-eat mix of fun, learning, and wild adventure! 🌲

✨Big news!✨ 5th grade launched their new book club this morning: Birds of a Feather ~ Let’s Read Together! 🐦📖 We can’t wait to see where their reading adventures take them! 🩵🧡 #FalconsRise #ShineYourLight

🗺️✨ Our 3rd graders took their mapping and geography skills to the next level with a giant floor map of Oklahoma! They explored latitude & longitude, absolute & relative location, border states, and parts of a map—all while walking across it. Map skills are WAY more fun when you can walk them! 🙌 #FalconsRise #ShineYourLight

🥚🚗 Our 4th graders wrapped up their Egg Racers unit with a Crash Day Egg-stravaganza! They put their science skills to the test, exploring energy transfers and cheering each other on to see whose egg driver survived the big collisions. 💥🙌 #FutureScientists #FalconsRise #ShineYourLight

Before Fall Break, our third graders participated in a genre restaurant transformation. Each classroom was a different genre restaurant including a Historical Fiction Diner, Starbooks Poetry Cafe, Papa Genre's Realistic Fiction Pizzeria, Mystery Bistro, All You Can Read Nonfiction Buffet, and a Traditional Literature Bakery (Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, and Fables). Third graders learned about each genre, created a book with the information they learned, "tasted" books from each literary genre, and completed the writing process to create an informational story. They loved practicing their ELA standards in an engaging way!
